Most poll options yet! My vote went to the Titans. Ulduar is damned impressive and whenever I fly through Storm Peaks I just feel like there are so many amazing ruins for me to explore.
I clicked on the poll thinking "totally art deco, man".....then realized it was for WoW. I voted for the Dwarf styles because they have a way of doing the grandiose (Ironforge!) that is stunning, but they are also the masters of nice living spaces (love that farm in the Hinterlands on the coast there) :)
I was torn between Titan and Dwarf. However, I ended up running with Dwarf style because it's always been my favorite. Ironforge is my favorite city :< It's so stout and warm like a potbelly stove. It still has an open feel to it though, which is great.
You forgot naaru architecture (Exodar, Tempest Keep). Though there's some clear similarities, it is distinct from draenei architecture (Shattrath, Telredor, Telaar).
However, gnomes? Gnomes. Gnomes... gnomes. GNOMES.
...Man. I totally wanna change my vote from nelf to Titan, because I forgot how Ulduar just makes me go "Oooooh puuuurty *stare*" and forget to hit my buttons every so often. D:
Murlocs! Murglglglglglglgl! (I didn't vote for them, though.)
Also, Scourge architecture is based off of Nerubian architecture while the Forsaken style is Human, only rotting and decrepit. I'm not really sure that they're deserving of their own poll option, but I suppose you can appreciate them anyway.
! This is relevant to Tezzy's interests. I don't think there's a decent example of "Forsaken architecture" in the old world -- it's just reused Human ruins, and Undercity is Scourge-built. The quest hubs and towns in Northrend, however -- Vengeance Landing, New Agamand, Venomspite... look significantly different.
Edit: Nevermind. >.>
Nerubian and Scourge seem very distinct to me. If anything, I'd have prefered to separate Forsaken and Scourge architecture.
Forsaken looks like victorian horror (read: Frankenstein) whereas Scourge seems more inspired by Mordor from the Lord of the Rings movies, full of metal spikes and sharp edges. Human style seemed very different from scourge to me, at least considering Northrend buildings.
This was a hard decision. I was torn between Scourge and Titan.
Titan because Storm Peaks is both 1) Awe Inspiring, and 2) Full of epic Engineering Awesomeness.
Scourge, because I still can't get over just how freakishly awesome Icecrown Citadel looks.
Ended up voting Titan; the Engineer in me got the better of me.
I was really torn between Tauren and Titan. In the end, I had to go with Titan. There have many times in Storm Peaks and Ulduar when I've been left absolutely breathless.
It's a tie between tauren and titan. Grraaarrr I don't knoooow.
I love the stone and earth (and beer) style of the dwarves. It's so simple and functional.
The Titans built Azeroth so they kind of trumped everyone else in the architectural department. Even though the Old Godsdid t.p. the place while the Titans where out shopping.
I went with Gnomes, but ima a hardware geek, so all the cogs kinda make me feel like im at my irl home
\m/ \m/ Undeeeaaaddd.
Surprised about the lack of Qiraji votes. For me it was a close race between Titan and Qiraji, because they both gave me the sense of awe and mystery when I encountered them. Eventually Titans won because I've spent so much more time in Ulduar than I have in AQ, but it was close!
I had to pick night elf. Despite others being much more impressive, for me there's nothing like the feeling of ending the day in one of those wooden inns that's open to the water, like in Auberdine or Astranaar. Especially if it's raining out.
For some reason, that's the thing I'd most like to be able to do in real life, just sit in a night elf inn on the water while it rains drinking tea or something.
I'm a Draenei fan. All around.
'tis true, I didn't roll one for the waggle. :O
Whoever voted Undead with me... /fistbump
I DUNNNNOOOOO. I mean, I lovelovelove Undercity, but it felt like... A mix between Human (Lordaeron), and Scourge. Right now I'm on a troll high, so yeah. Voted Trolls. º_º v
Voted for Titan since i love shiny stuff, but I also have a soft spot for blood elf and night elf too 8V
All scourge structure are Nerubian in design. The lich king used their shape and architecture after they proved to be formidable opponents. Of course the skulls are undead in relation to that.
Yeah, but if you compare the design of Azjol Nerub or Old Kingom to that of Icecrown, they're very very distinctly different. Scourge design has changed since WC3.
I think Qiraji and Burning Legion got pity votes... and not a single one for orcs? Not terribly surprising. I do find the high amount of votes for trolls surprising though! If I never see a troll themed zone again it'll be too soon.
I went with Titan. I love the look of those areas!
Went with gnomes, cause Gnomeregan is pretty sweet. But I almost voted High/Blood Elf, cause it's so puurty and magical and curvy and .... yeah :P
