Character Biography

Physical Appearance

If 'Swagger' were a person, that person would be Dastin Vin'yan. Though he is an elf of average height and average build, he does -not- blend into a crowd. In fact, he tends to do just the opposite.

He carries himself with an air of confidence that would border on narcicism were it not for his curiously 'down to earth' nature. He has a perpetual smirk on his lips and is often humming one seafaring tune or another in a low, mostly in-tune voice.

His ruggedly handsome face is marked with strong features, slightly broader than most of his kind. His face is covered with a few days worth of stubble which lengthens near his chin into a goatee, the longest parts of which are braided. His eyes, the color of a cloudless sky, seem to smile in and of themselves. His true smile is bright and has been known to cause many a wench to swoon over him.

On his left temple, near his eye, there is a small, intricate tribal tattoo. Both ears are pierced with a variety of gold rings and studs.

While he clearly lacks the more refined fashion senses of the city dwellers, by a pirate's standard, his attire is lavish. He wears a well tailored vest of rich leather over a loose-fitting white shirt. Leggings of the matching leather extend down until they meet his black leather boots just below his knees. Around his waist is a lengthy sash of rich crimson fabric, elaborately embroided along its edges with a darker shade of red. The sash is tied in a knot at his left hip, the excess cloth draping down loosely to the side of his knee. Around his head, a crimson headband of the same make is tied, the loose ends of which drape down his back just past his shoulders.

History

I'd really like for his history to mostly remain a secret so that you all have to get it out of him in-game. But.. I'll give a very brief synopsis.

Dastin was born in Goldenmist Village to a merchant family. Shortly after his birth, his family began sailing up and down the coast of the Eastern Kingdoms to sell their goods. They eventually ended up in Booty Bay, where Dastin won a ship in a card game. Being of an adequate age, he hired a crew and set out on his own. Long story short.. he sailed all over Azeroth for many years, became a successful merchant in his own right and eventually took up pirating.

However, while he was a pirate, he made a point to be selective with who he stole from. He'd only attack the ships of rich merchants. And even then, he kept little of the loot for himself. He became slightly famous for distributing the wealth among the smaller, poorer merchant ships that he would come across.

Many years later, he returned to Silvermoon City to look into a possible business arrangement. When he arrived he found the city in chaos, particularly the Murder Row. He came across the Crimson Elite, led by a mysterious, cloak-shrouded woman named Clarion. And he's been in Silvermoon City ever since.

Personality

To put it plainly, Dastin is obnoxious. He's loud and doesn't really filter much of anything when he speaks. Combine that with the fact that he has what some might consider to be an unhealthy lack of fear, and the result is a strong penchant for getting into trouble.

He is an incessant flirt, with little to no regard for most common social boundaries. Despite this, he has a peculiar charm to him - some might even call it an innocence. It's as if he grew up and just decided to ignore all of the rules society attempted to constrain him with.

The typical trend is that men dislike him and woman like him. This is likely due to his overly-confident attitude and the manner in which he pointedly ignores what would otherwise be normal "male vs. male" competition or posturing. He is who he is and he feels no need whatsoever to alter that for anyone.

Despite his flamboyant air, he does care deeply for his friends. He has a strong sense of loyalty and is actually rather altruistic.
