Character Biography

Physical Appearance

Looking at Ruten it's obvious that he's getting a little on in years, by how grey his neatly trimmed and groomed beard is. His skin is steadily getting more wrinkled every year, but getting old hasn't slowed this dwarf down. One very distinguishing mark on him is a short red scar on his left cheek.

If anything despite it all, because of all the traveling and training he puts himself through he is in the best shape of his life. His soft brown eyes still twinkle with an eagerness to go out and experience life and the many different types of booze it has to offer. He wears a beautiful gold wedding ring around his finger.

He keeps the little gizmo's and trinket's he makes attached to a saddlebag of his Warhorse, along with a seperate saddlebag he keeps for his one and only pet. Which is quite surprisingly...a chicken.

History

(Rough History)

Upon asking of his past Ruten will usually look down at the table and sigh not saying anything. But continue to pester him and he may tell you that he was trained as a paladin in Ironforge when Uther, and others were training the first paladins. His training complete, he quickly returned to Lorderon to follow his wife and help her tend the farm her family kept there.

Here is where it becomes obvious a horrible thing must have happened for, while he says he no longer has any family he refuses to speak of it, or say what happened to that old farm or his wife. He tells only whom he trusts fully and completely about what happened to him, and at times has even grown angry with those who pester him too much about it.

While he doesn't like to talk about it, what actually happened is that doing the tragedy that befell Lorderon when Arthas returned to the Eastern Kingdoms Ruten was away on a mission for the silverhand. Having been sent to hunt down and end a band of gnolls who were plaguing a small town. Upon returning to Lorderon, he found his home in ruins. His friends and family gone. His wife lost to him forever.

He was recruited to The WaterFront Company and has quickly grown fond it's members. Thinking of them all as his companions and friends for the most part. He's even found himself a bit of family in Xyria/Lost whom he has adopted as his daughters, and loves them both as such.

Personality

The old dwarf, is very kind and warm hearted to those he is lucky to call friend. He can be a bit of a prankster now and then, especially when he's been drinking. Which to be frank is pretty damn often. He loves to tinker with little gadgets now and then when he finds he has the time, building little gizmo's and seeing them run wild and causing chaos.

He hates going to the ruins of Lorderon, as all he finds are bad, and terrible memories. You can always tell when he's thinking of his dark past as he buries himself in booze, wiping tears from his eyes.

He considers himself a Dwarf of Honor and tries to treat both horde and alliance in equal respect. He values his honor above any possession he owns.

If you can't find him he can usually be found touring through Stormwind's many bars and taverns looking for strong mead and good company.
