Character Biography

Physical Appearance

Tezzy's face is masklike, as though it attaches to her skull at too few points.
Her skin, what you can see of it, is white as mageweave -- though a scattering of small dark brown burns pucker the skin across her face, neck, and arms. Most simply scar the surface, but a few, lower, create small holes with charred edges. The skin around her eyes is unscathed, as though she raised a hand at the last moment to shield herself from an explosion.

Her limbs are extraordinarily thin, just leathern skin, bone, and sinew, and though the stretch and flex of sinew is apparent, it seems that some power other than muscles and metabolism must power her movements.

Birthplace

Stromgarde, Arathi, moved to Brill as a child.

Personality

Tezzy is outgoing, enthusiastic, straightforward (on most matters) and generally amiable, which has made her no friend to most of her risen kin. She would rather settle disputes through talk, or through absenting herself from a situation and putting it out of her mind, but if she gets pushed too far in a direction she does not care to go, she responds swiftly with vicious and efficient violence. Followed by absenting herself from the situation and putting it out of her mind.

In a fight that's gotten personal, Tezzy is the opposite of a stereotypical Rogue -- remaining in her opponent's face, and attacking to disfigure, terrorize, and maim.

History

Tezzy was born "Tatiana Van Zandt", only child to two rich and ambitious landowners of Alterac. Since birth she was a sickly child, falling ill to fevers and lingering coughs, which resisted the best treatments and eluded the best medical advice her parents could buy. Nevertheless, they spent gold on tutors and govenesses as well, hoping to arrange Tatiana a marriage that would be politically advantageous for all of them.

Unfortunately this ambition was cut short by Lord Perenolde's treachery -- though the Van Zandts were not officially on Uther's naughty list, they knew enough families who WERE to want to get out of town. They traveled east, under an assumed name, and lived off savings, as rather unproductive renters in Arathi. Mrs. Van Zandt's unchanged uppity behavior towards their "common" neighbors, and Tezzy's obvious illness made it difficult to live in secret, and traveling regularly would have disastrous consequences on Tezzy's frail health. Tezzy was sent off to live in Brill, with her mother's sister, a widow and an apothecary, who would act as her parent, tutor, and nurse.

Life in Brill was uneventful, "Auntie" kept Tezzy secluded in her room, for the sake of her health, and she grew up there, small, weak, ill, pale, naive, passing her time studying dusty historybooks and memorizing, out of habit, the proper modes of behavior and speech, for the noble marriage that looked ever more impossible. The most exciting event, in all her twenty-five years, was the fall of Brill itself -- when unnoticed by most, Tezzy's life slipped away and she rose again as a thrall of the Lich King.
